His love of gold is well known, and we aren’t just referring to money.
President Donald Trump has already redecorated the Oval Office at the White House, CNN reported Friday night, and photos show the room’s reddish curtains have been replaced with gold-hued drapes. CLICK IMAGE for link to HuffPost
“They always change the carpet; he changed the carpet. It’s a sunburst pattern,” CNN’s ErinBurnett noted Friday evening, while Time’s Zeke Miller reported the rug is actually from the George W. Bush era.
The gold drapes also appear to be from the Bush era, according to photographs: 
Among other updates, a bust of Winston Churchill is back in the spot where former President Barack Obama replaced it with a bust of Martin Luther King, Jr. 
The turnaround ― such as it is so far ― apparently happened while Trump was being sworn in. As of Friday morning, Obama’s design, installed in 2010 at the expense of the non-profit White House Historical Association, was still in place: 
How much more gold might things get? Judging from Trump’s personal properties, one can only guess.
“Everyone now personalizes it,” historian William Seale told the Washington Post of the Oval Office. “They usually don’t change much right away. But then they might change the curtains, and everyone eventually gets a new rug.”
